Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, MD, PhD

BIO

Dr. Sleiman Haddad MD, PhD is a spine surgeon treating adult spinal pathologies including spinal deformities at Hospital Universitario Vall d’Hebron, in Barcelona Spain. Dr. Haddad completed his medical degree with honors at the American University of Beirut (Lebanon) where he received the Outstanding Graduate Penrose Award of the graduating class in 2009. He then completed his orthopaedic training at the Hospital Universitario Vall d’Hebron, in Barcelona Spain in 2015. He has then done an observership at the Rothman Institute of Philadelphia and pursued an advanced spinal fellowship program at the Queen´s Medical Centre in Nottingham (UK). He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and completed his PdD thesis in 2018. He is also a member of the EuroSpine Society, AO Spine, British Association of Spinal Surgeons and the GEER.

He has been awarded with the “best oral presentation” in several meetings including the GEER and BASS and the best Doctoral Thesis by the Quiron Group in 2019. He is in the Vall d’Hebron Hospital Research Committee and is part of the VHIR (Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research). He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers and more than 150 presented abstracts at national and international meetings.  Dr. Haddad joined the ESSG in 2014 as an associate member. He is now appointed as a Spinal Consultant at the Vall d’Hebron Spinal Unit and also works at the Barcelona Spinal Institute (Quiron Hospital – Barcelona – Spain).
